William



William Sim is a graduate of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He has experimented with various media and exhibited his works in the region. He joined Urban Sketchers Singapore in 2012 and has been an active member since. He is the illustrator behind "Colouring the Lion City", "Colouring the World", "Botanical Singapore", "Out and About in Singapore" and the co-author of artbook “Of Happiness and Biophilia”.

William's Workshop



Architectural details on buildings tell of the history of its occupants. The community, religion, culture and social status of its owners more often than not informs these ornamental details.


Walk down the street of Bandung with William Sim to discover little gems in the neighbourhood and enjoy a close encounter with the buildings. William will share his approach to sketching with watercolor as his medium and how he frames these beautiful details in his sketchbook.

Day 3, 19 September 2020. Afternoon


Workshop Level: any level could learn from this workshop.


Duration: 3 hours of various experimentation with a guided demo.


What to bring: Participants will need to bring watercolor set, palette, brushes and water container. A4-size watercolor paper and workshop summary will be provided.
