Sheila is a Jakarta-based professional comic artist who rediscovered her love of urban sketching, not only as a medium to unwind but also to collect stories and references from every corner of any city she travels to. She loves to incorporate narrative storytelling in her urban sketches because for her, every part of this world matters and precious to keep as memories.

Sheila regularly conducts workshops on fundamental drawing, human gesture drawing, and story building. Some of them were 101 Travel Sketch with Sketchwalker (in 7 cities in Indonesia), Parisian Gotta Catch Them All: Human Drawing Workshop in Paris, France with Mathieu Letellier, and Urban Nature Stories: storytelling and comic workshop in Berlin, Germany.

In my workshop, participants will learn how to synthesize all the fundamental theories they already mastered, e.g: human gesture, still life, environmental drawing, into a simple yet unique and fascinating narrative.

Participants will also learn to observe the beauty in daily mundane events by paying attention to interesting details surrounding us. Let's preserve stories and memories into beautiful sketches.
